Will trade a Dopplr invite for a puffy Garfield sticker.

You know what? I haven’t signed up for a Web 2.0-ified, beg-for-beta-invites, socially networky site in months (unless you count Ning sites, which, frankly, I don’t). Have I not been keeping up with the scene, or have all the johnny-come-lately startups shifted over to cranking out Facebook apps and embeddable widgets?

I know the Internet can’t sustain a zillion and one social sites, but I actually kind of get a kick out of trading beta invites. It’s a combination of competitive collecting and cooperative sharing that hits a weird sweet spot for me. If I could gather Web 2.0 sites in an album like stickers, I’d be in dork nirvana.

Semifat Sediment

I mean, sure, it's a completely obvious idea that was just waiting for someone to actually take the time to do it, but I prefer to think that I'm prescient and totally on the edge of future trends.
