OK, that just flat-out rocks. Will Google ever do anything that isn't 100% groovy?
Sure, it’s totally geeky and gratuitous, but Google’s new calculator service is surprisingly useful. I’ve always been annoyed at having to open a separate app just to do a quick bit of arithmetic, and oddly enough, I’m often without any scraps of paper to write on. I often resort to switching to a terminal window and running the great-but-ancient dc to do math, which is kind of an abstruse solution.
But since Google has become the search engine of choice over the last few years, there has been a proliferation of ways to access it. Most browsers allow you to enter queries in either a separate field or the address bar, and programs like Huevos give you a hotkey for quick searching access. Given that there’s all this infrastructure dedicated to giving you quick access to a single text field, packing more functionality into that field actually turns out to be incredibly handy.

That is nice. dc is probably even more thrilling though. so beautiful! (I usually have a cygwin terminal open so running dc is almost 0 work for me)
PS. Having to post an email address is ugly. Do I love spam? not so much. Is that your idea, Josh, or does Movable type require it?
I need the email address so that I know which Dave you are -- IF THAT IS INDEED YOUR REAL NAME.
You should be able to just stick some random characters in there. If I get motivated, I might tweak the templates so that only I can see the address or something.
MT lets you turn on 'Allow Anonymous Comments', which makes those fields not required. However, Andy seems to be doing a good job of hiding his email by adding a URL.
Ok, I think I've fixed it so that you still must enter an email address (so I know who you are), but it will never be shown (so know one else can spam you).
