I got home from SXSW a week ago, but I’m still trying to dig my way out of the backlog of work and e-mails that piles up when you go to two major conferences in two weeks. It was my first SXSW, and I had a lot of work-related stuff going on while we were there, but I still managed to have a good time and meet lots of nice people — despite finding neither a belt nor an iPad.
I have to say, though: the person who told me that “SXSW is basically spring break for Silicon Valley” was pretty much spot on. I think I met more Californians than Texans during my time there. I’m hoping to not go to another conference for at least a few more days, but if I do, I’d really like to go to one with fewer social media gurus.
