Daylight Spendings Time hit like a truck today, and I spent eight hours at my desk just staring at my screen, trying to think of something — anything — that might get my brain moving. Nothing worked. So I left to go home, riding the train through the dark and feeling gnawingly hungry.

It’s times like this, when light is scarce and I start to crave the fattiest, unhealthiest comfort food I can get my hands on, that I’m really glad I live just a few blocks from a Taco Bell. I’m sure I won’t be so glad when I have to let all my pants out and my arteries are full of chalupa, but I’ll worry about that later, after my circadian rhythm has readjusted itself.
