I finished my contract job with Monster Games today. Be sure to check out Test Drive: Eve of Destruction when it comes out this fall. From what I can tell, it’s turning out very nicely, but since this is my first time on the other side of the game development fence, it’s pretty hard to say for sure.

Being involved in a software project as a non-programmer was an odd experience, but surprisingly, I didn’t miss being in the code at all. Production work and play tuning can be tedious, but no more so than hunting for heisenbugs or doing performance profiling. It’s definitely work I’d like to do more of in the future. For now, though, I’m going to enjoy sleeping in late and spending time playing games instead of making them.
