One of the nice things console game publishers have done lately is to quietly admit that games are way too expensive for most people to make a habit of buying, by starting to release new games at a US$20 price point. Charging $50 for a remix or expansion of an older game was never a formula for success, and the lower price allows people to enjoy polished upgrades like Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution without the lingering bitterness that comes from paying for the same game twice.

A nice side effect of this trend is that I can post a wish list of stuff I want for the holidays without feeling like everything I desire will put me or my friends into debt:

So if someone just happens to be at the store, and just happens to see one of these games on sale, and just happens to want to get me something for Christmas, I probably wouldn’t complain.
