I went for a walk this morning and unexpectedly came home with Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo for the GBA. I say “unexpectedly” because I didn’t plan on seeing it sitting on the shelf in a random EB Games store. For some reason, I don’t count on reissues of cult classic puzzle games showing up in your average retail establishment next to the State of Emergency overstock and the dozens upon dozens of baseball titles; usually, the combination of a small production run and fanatical collectors conspire to keep thse sorts of games away from me. I mean, they didn’t even translate the voice clips from Japanese; if that doesn’t scream “niche market,” I don’t know what does.

Of course, there’s always the distressing thought that I may be one of those fanboys sitting directly in the sights of Capcom’s marketing department. I try not to consider this possibility too much.
